Checkout www.edchange.org, a multicultural website by Paul Gorski and EDchangers. There is a list of songs that would be great in the classroom that target the topic of poverty. It is a great way to introduce social justice conversations in the classroom. The website also highlights multicultural books, lesson plans, activities, setting up the community classroom etc..
