We want our children to love their neighbors as they love themselves. We want our childrent to have confidence and self-worth, to be thinkers who act, react, and reflect. We want our students to be life long learners and life long teachers.

If we teach them lies then they will think lies, act, react, and reflect on lies. If we teach them truth then they will think truth, act, react, and reflect on truth. When you know better then the goal is to do better. Education is important if we really want our students to be leaders who are thinkers who act, react, and reflect the truth. If we refuse to teach them the truth we are teaching them to turn their backs on themselves, on others, their country, their world.

During our process of trying to select a problem to solve, I would often hear others say “We need to be realistic. We can’t solve that problem.” I said the same. Problems like ocean pollution appear too big. But, not really. Sometimes it starts with a letter to make others aware. This is important to remember when we get our students ready to think about their environment and solve problems.
